Is the update of website content really so important to SEO?

We have mentioned the importance of updating the content of the website again and again, but in actual implementation, customers often have content problems.

Customers will respond to us: "I don't know what to write." or "I don't have the manpower to run the website."

This week we did a small experiment to observe whether the website update is really helpful for optimization.

This experiment is mainly because the customers' products are originally concentrated on a certain inner page, and it is indeed difficult to update the content.

Because we are not experts in the industry after all, we can’t help clients write professional articles.

Therefore, the engineer separates each product into a separate page by adding new product pages.

Keep the website updated, and the total number of pages on the website will increase accordingly.

Just adding product category pages has allowed website rankings to grow.

From the table below, we can see that the original number of pages was only 231 pages. After about a month, the number of included pages increased to 604.

And one of the keywords of this customer also increased from 18th to 8th.

Other indicators such as: the time spent on the site, the number of internal links, and the number of long-tail words have all grown.

It can be seen that the continuous update of the website does make the website develop in a better direction.

But of course it’s not just a matter of blindly updating the website.

We have to analyze the renewal degree of competitors, brand awareness, community management... etc.

But if you continue to update articles or content that are valuable to customers,

Not only will there be more long-tail terms, but the overall website traffic will also increase, of course, there is a chance to drive the ranking of the main terms!

If you are still worried about website traffic, start with the frequency of web page updates first!
