Your driver license will be suspended if you are convicted of drag racing on public roads.

In Alabama, if you're convicted for the first time of racing on public roads, your license will be suspended for up to six months, you will be fined $500, and you will receive a suspended jail sentence of between 5 and 90 days (for which you will serve 30 days' probation). A single offense of speeding or tailgating is unlikely to result in license suspension, but points will be added to your driving record. If you accumulate too many points, your license will be suspended. [AL Code § 32-5A-178]
